RMP2 (thinking of buying) just one question i need to know?
« on: November 24, 2009, 04:30:07 pm »
I am thinking of getting a pair of these as im limeted on money and these look very nice for the price these cost, the main question i really need to know is before purchasing...

Dose the jogwheel on the RMP2/RMP2b work the same as a Pioneer 1000 or 800 jogwheel? as when it may come to bookings at clubs i will most probably be using the pioneer players, and don't really want to use and practise at home with a player that dosn't even work the same way as the ones im using in clubs... because i will be using the jogweel alot on both players and hope the weight and the feel of the jogwheel works the same way so i dont have to keep changing the way i play, and will be confusing and pointless getting these if they dont, obviously the players will be different but how much.

Would be very gratefull for a reply, Cheers =]

I hope this helps...
Using the Pioneer players, when cueing and applying pitch bend
you,ll hear that staccato, machine gun effect as you lock down
your beat/cue point.

Using the Reloop players as soon as you cue, theres silence until
you move the jog wheel whilst applying pitch bend.
Personally, its one thing i don,t like about the Reloops and takes
getting used to after using the Pioneer players. Its not bad or anything
but i,d personally prefer to hear that staccato sound when locking in
the cue point without having to rotate the platter.

I still say Reloop make nicer players than Pioneer though
dollar for dollar. These rmp-2s are damn nice players.

I am a mobile D.J. since 99 and now that my pionner 100s died,
I am thinking of buying 2 RMP-2 B.
Also i am buying a spin! 2+ system to go with them so as to switch to digital for gigs like weddings, conversions, presentations and such.
But...I do want the mixxing abilities of a cd-player because i d.j. at bars and small clubs (Audio & Mp3) and i need to practice rigth  ;)
I suppose pitch bent while in the mix can be done via the jogdial, yes?
Hope this new setup will work stable. I will be posting news.
Thanx.

Well if theres one thing we all hope, its the that the setup remains
stable. There is NOTHING worse (whilst djing) than gear clapping
out on you mid set :P

Pray to gods of Reloop that this never happens.

And yes,you can pitchbend whilst mixing using the
platter. Theres also a second method of cueing up via the
scratch efx button (demo on Youtube).
