I don't know. I'm not owning an alpha version. But it's true that there should be an update. You're completely right.

I can only agree to all the posts above! It's time for a firmware update or at least a statement from Reloop about the Update!
Nobody from Reloop says anything about the update here.

dear rmp-3 owners,

it is true that the alpha version has new features compared to the "b" version.
the rmp-3 b has been introduced last year on "musikmesse frankfurt", the first units were available in april 2009.
the new alpha version will be available around april / may 2010.
on the one hand there is a new firmware and on the other hand there are hardware modifications.

at the moment we checking which software updates can be done with the rmp-3 b.
so please relax, we will inform you soon.

but please also keep in mind that we constantly want to advance our products, because of that there are new versions from time to time.

Hi there - I sended to our Polish distributor an email with question about alpha functions and RMP-3 b machine.

I've received a info that - when serial number of the RMP-3b machine is higher than G906 (ex. G910, G911 etc.) then special features available on RMP-3 alpha are also available in RMP-3b. And this (as my PL distributor said) is a result of update in manufacture of RMP-3b and in general "the difference between new RMP-3b (new serial numbers) and RMP-3 Alpha is only color and logo"....

Is this true or my Polish distributor is wrong/lying ?

I really do not want to buy outdated machine just because im in rush so Im asking here - at the source!

I would be really apreciatted for any information about this case!

Anyone could make atleast a fast reply like "yes You're right/no You're wrong as well as Your distributor" ??

I also dont see any updates in the firmware... I really dont know what to do... wait bit longer (but how long?) or maybe buy a pair of brand new Pioneer CDJ-800MK2 ??

There are atleast (as I see) two very critical bugs in firmware: http://www.reloopdj.com/forum/index.php/topic,1069.0.html

1. Loop adjust doesnt work like it should - very bad. For anyone who dont use usb sticks/hdd this is a real pain. Let's say that someone have a cd wallet and every of his cd's contain only 1 or 2 tracks in audio format (original mix and a remix) - how he can avoid this problem? He cant because he have 1 track per cd - so the first and only track is like gone - no possibilities to use loop adjust - and this is critical bug. It is not some 15 year old kid problem who have no knowledge about real mixing (only fader left/fader right + no beatmatch) who want to have an update of firmware just because they watched on YouTube that Pioneer users have something like this!! Loop adjust is very important for everyone who know how to mix properly!

2. Problems with beatmathing when using jog wheel - also critical. How to mix if You cant beatmatch with the jog?

This is not good. I know that for an instance: Denon has with their dn-s3700 multiple firmware problems but dn-s3700 is like a tank with many many manyyyy options and they had something like 3 firmware update since their product was released!. RMP-3 should be like Pioneer CDJ-400/CDJ-800MK2 killer - but it isnt due to zero firmware updates! And if it's gonna be like this a bit longer then Pioneer with their brand new CDJ-350 will kill the RMP-3 cd player. RMP-3 simply wont have a place in the market!

Please - could anybody give atleast a preliminary date when new firmware will be available?

Do not trash Your product like Denon just because there are some firmware issues!

hi,

please be conscious that we cannot create an update from one day to another.
at the moment almost all of us are in frankfurt, because of the "musikmesse".
as i said, when there are news we will inform you here.
as far as the serial numbers are concerned i will give you a answer soon.
the last charge of rmp-3 b have the features of the alpha version.

the jog wheel behaviour is different compared to the pioneer ones.
of cause you can beatmatch with the reloop jog, it is just another technique.
so you cannot see this as a bug.

OK thanks for the infos! Sorry for being bit rude but I recently saw CDJ-350 and the price of this gear will be in june 2010 something like 599 euro - so as for me this could be good alternative for rmp-3. But if rmp-3 will have firmware updates then no need to buy cdj-350. cdj-350 basicly doesnt have anything good besides usb, so I wish You best of luck making new firmware and making your customers happy.
