Tip: Using CD-Players with Spin! (Settings)

CD-Players and turntables can be used for controlling Spin! Yet, the sound input must be set different, as CD-Players have a louder output.

If looping, pitch bending or scratching does not work properly with your CD-Player, try minimizing the input signal in your system settings:

> Start > control panel > sounds and audio devices > audio > sound recording > volume

Here you should choose a low level.

>> CHOOSE CLASSIC SPIN! MODE FOR CD-PLAYERS.
>> USE TRACK ONE OF TIMECODE CD (track 2 is for track select function)

Following players were tested successfully with Spin! (more to follow):
- Reloop RMP-1
- Reloop RMP-1 Scratch
- Reloop RMP-2
- Pioneer CDJ-400
- Pioneer CDJ-800
- Pioneer CDJ-1000
- Denon DN-S3500

what abaout the old DN-D4000 do u know if it is worthy...

i already bought the spin:) and have the dn-d4000, but i have some problems with the cue bottom...when i "cue" in my cd player, in spin it only pause, that means that i can´t make a cue point...

it´s there any way to "reconfigurate" the spin with the hardware?

sorry for the english, but i would apreciate much a little help:)

I don't have the possibility to test this model, but normally it should work if you follow the tips below.
Because when you set a Cue Point with the CD-Player and press Cue, the Laser jumps back to the Timecode-Position on the CD - so also to the position in the track you have set the point.

good that it works now!

yes, you can record your set for ex. with audacity. You should connect the Rec / Master 2 Out of your mixer with a second audio interface or the Line In of your on board soundcard OR best use a second computer (you could then also live stream your set with winamp shoutcast..very cool!)

(SPin1 user)

I would like to know the best mode or settings to have on the spin software if i would like to scratch with the cd players on pioneer cdj 800, 1000.

I have tried scratching with alot of problems i still dont know wether to have advanced mode or battle mode.
I also wonder if Spin works better with Windows Xp then with Vista, ive had afew system shutdowns during gigs and had to restart the computer which was a disaster in the middle of a hot set when people was going crazy on the dancefloor.
How can i better prevent this from happening in the future????

I just updated to the new spin2 software but havent had the time to test it on cd players yet.
