Okay, I had posted a question on whether a particular setup would work but unfortunately I had no reply from support staff. So I just wanted everyone to know that my setup works and I because I purchased the reloop contour interface edition I have Traktor running through Ableton!!!
Here is my setup.
I am running NI Traktor Pro 2 on my PC (which is a not recommended by reloop Athlon 64x2).
The contour interface edition is plugged in via USB (it does not seem to need the power adaptor!)
Reloop Contour ASIO is selected in Traktor's Audio Settings (as are the output settings for standalone outs and headphone outs)
The Reloop Contour Outputs are to one of the stereo ins channels on my little mix desk (pictured).
Ableton is on with my PC's internal M-Audio Audiophile soundcard ASIO selected.
And thats it.
There's a little switch on the Spirit which selects between master mix and Tape. So basically if I am not using ableton and just wanting to use the Traktor and Contour I release the switch and it feeds directly to the monitors. When I am using ableton i push the switch and it feeds to the ins on the audiophile soundcard.
I still haven't set up the midi sync but I think because Abelton can receive midi clock it it sees the Contour then it should be easy enough so then I can hopefully start dropping clips and samples etc.
But at the moment the mix is going through an armed audio channel on ableton and I can add effects and VST fx no problem. And even for an old Athlon 64 x 2 the CPU seems pretty cool for ableton effect chains.
Reloop Contour Interface - Nice bit of Kit!!!!!
