How to connect the fader start?
« on: September 01, 2009, 09:43:54 pm »
How do I connect the fader start connectors of the RMP-2860 to my mixer? It's a traditional radio mixing console with a closing contact on start and another closing contact on stop.

not every mixer has the fader start feature.
there must be a 3,5 mm input, the faderstart must also be activated by a special button on your mixer.
concern the manual of your mixer.

The mixer has a fader start feature, it's well documented in the mixer manual, and I use it for other connected equipment. The mixer provides a closed contact on fader up and another closed contact on fader down. Four pins in a 15 pin D-SUB is used for this.

What I now need to know is the pinout of the 3,5mm connector on the Reloop player. This isn't documented in the (brief) manual that I have access to. I can't even see if it is a 2-pole (i.e mono) connector or a 3-pole (i.e stereo)? Does a close between the contacts mean "start", or should the contects be earthed, or is the feature implemented in any other way?
